![]() Looking at the thriving Mars base, you may not be able to stop the corners of your mouth from turning up, a good base builder, leading everyone is creating a better life, you did it! You start to get busy, engineering vehicles are also busy, the residents of Mars are also busy for you! Mining! Build materials! Pull the power grid! Connecting water pipes! Build houses! Recruit people! Build factories! Doing research! It's hard enough to come to Mars, so choose a mineral-rich place to build up. ![]() If you are cautious, you can take a good look at the distribution of mineral resources on Mars in this game. You can take a look around and choose a good location for the land you will plant on Mars. Geographical naming, altitude fields are consistent with the real Mars. The game uses the full real Mars terrain database. take a general look at the instructions below?Ĭome to Mars, landing site of your choice, of course, it is recommended to choose a higher place, where the wind power is strong, but also will not be later flooded by the Martian ocean. It makes sense and sense to come to Mars and create a habitable planet for humans.Ĭoming to Mars, create a habitable planet for humans.hmmm, that is sensible and reasonable. You, the human, the base commander, are bold and meticulous. It would be interesting to see the chances during the 6 times a day each equal to the chance amount you can get a child.Mars, Earth's closest neighbor, but cold and barren. My original post was more about how the colonist would be comfort affected, so apologies for mudding the water here.ĭome:CalcBirth() and Dome:BuildingUpdate() would be the code to follow if anyone is interested in puting together an english version of what the code does to calculate whether a child is spawned. Reading the code around spawning children there is a somewhat complex algorithm around fertility that is more at play. Shutting off a shift does not necessarily affect comfort right away for births depending on the amount of time it has been in effect nor would it necessarily be the sole factor to whether you get births. While comfort is a parameter important to births, other parameters are at play. That number 55 or 70 is used in part to selected colonist pairing (Fertility Check).ĭuring fertility check a few more parms are checked including homeless penalties. In theory if the call for calc comes during a time when the amount of hours the infirmary was active and less than Day duration then the threshold is lowered (55), but as the day gets long if it does not qualify then the default number is used(70). I assumed the question was about getting to a point to get colonist births.įirst, yes Emmote you will see that number vary if shifts are inactive, but only if the moment of calculation for the GetMinComfortBirth() call (function quoted by Blake). Hmm, I didnt read the OP that way so I guess I should clarify. If this is not true then the UI lies because I've watched it switch from saying births can happen to births can't happen during a night shift when the night shift is disabled on the infirmary. ![]() So if the average comfort level is between the default and reduced it can shut off births during the inactive time. Originally posted by Emmote:The birth comfort threshold of a dome will be reduced while the infirmary is active and returned to normal while it is inactive. You want the definitive answer? Check out the source code from GitHub under Haemimont Games. Its the colonists choice when they want to visit the infirmary.īTW that surviving mars wiki? Its not an official source of how this game works. to answer your original question, opening or closing any shifts in the infirmary do not affect any comfort statistics, unless a colonist wanted to visit it at that time, and was denied. There are tech upgrades to the infirmary that both affect the amount of comfort given to visiting colonists as well as boosting the host dome. Just keep in mind the colonist must visit the infirmary to get that comfort, or be denied acces to the infirmary when they attempt to access it to get the negative of that. The dome goes through several calculations to find qualified couples (one male+one female) with the proper set of characteristics from the game they call fertility.Ī colonist can receive comfort from many things, not just the infirmary. That said, birthing children is a function of the dome. Just highlight the colonists section to see the total counts and +/. It is a total of how much comfort he/she received from various different things. Comfort is a variable assigned to each colonist.
