![]() Older builds would at least have all the database xmls in one "gamelists" folder. I also noticed that newer builds made things worse, path wise. Seems like the only way is start from scratch, which i rather not do. The one i use is a few months old though because newer builds completely break my setup in weird ways and i haven't managed to find what's wrong, including a couple of people who tried to help in discord. It doesn't do anything different considering media paths. I already use a standalone build made by Caruso, from his github. ![]() And i only tried the standalone version of Emulationstation. After about 30 systems, i had enough and stopped there. ![]() I had to make a heavy use of notepad++ to build my setup, not to mention a ton of manual additions for any game the scrap process didn't find any media files online. Not to mention, if a media file isn't found online, no path is written at all so you have to add it manually in the xml. I can't warp my head around why would anyone want the media paths in the xmls. Instead, media paths are written in the database xml, during the scrap process. It's the most basic thing you can expect from a program like this but Emulationstation doesn't have it. But i will never understand why it doesn't have a simple path option for the media files in order to use the media folders you already have. I like Emulationstation because of how nice the themes look. Join us at /r/EmuDev Android Emulator accuracy tests:Īre you an emulator developer? The default settings should put safety and compatibility ahead of performance and should at least work on as many setups as possible. So, when they first start RetroArch, the games run too fast and without any sound, and the first thing we have to tell them to do is go mess around with their drivers, which is very "dangerous" (that is, prone to n00b errors, and those errors can be a "game over" situation that leads to a broken installation that requires manually editing the config file in a text editor, etc. Since directx 9.0c is getting older all the time, and fewer modern games require it, it's becoming increasingly less likely that users have it installed on their system.
